Server Upgrade - system board

Parts finally arrived for the server upgrade. I replaced the 475MHz AMD K6-2 CPU, motherboard, and RAM with an Abit KT7-A motherboard, an AMD AthlonXP 1800+, and 256MB of PC133 RAM.

Future upgrade plans include: UPS (battery back up), KVM switch, more RAM, and of course, a killer ultrascience labs custom case. I also really, really want a better broadband connection. Unfortunately, it's ~$100 to $120 a month. Once I get the e-mail server up and running and disk quotas set up, I can start charging for hosting and get people hooked up.

If you are interested in having a site hosted on ultrasciencelabs, drop me a line at bruce42@netins.net. Hosting is very selective, however, directed towards supporting electronic music in and connected to Ames.

If you are interested in custom case work, drop me a line at the same address. The ultrascience labs shop is running and new projects are under way. comment by bruce42@ 10/21/2003 09:04 PM CST
