You know those hand-crank, stove-top popcorn poppers they have? I wonder if they make a good computer case. Or part of one, at least. Currently on the drawing board is a computer case based mostly on a popcorn popper. The popper won't really dictate any sort of "popcorn theme," but will really only be an interesting part of the case. But why a popcorn popper? Well, if I'd have happened upon some other pot or pan sitting in the junk heap, I probably would have said "Hey! I bet that pan that doesn't happen to be a popcorn popper would make an intersting computer case!" No pictures yet, but what we're really intersted in is what do YOU think? Partz
The key will be finding a board small enought to fit inside. If we go FlexATX, we can probably do the split in half + Acrylic box; if we go with an ITX board, we could probably fit the whole system inside, well maybe minus the power supply. Of course, I've seen a Flex ATX system with a power supply in the form of an external brick. Form of brick- Go!

PSU Brick! It's the new craze
PSU Brick! It's the new craze! ITX you say... would there be enough room for the motherboard AND the drives? The popper isn't really all that huge. Hmm... we must meditate on this at second level. Or I could just get the popper in your hands so you can take some useful measuremeants...

Mini-ITX
Mini-ITX motherboards measure 6.75" square; Nano-ITX boards are even smaller. I think we could cram drives in there, too. Lite On IT has an extra compact CD-RW design- 5.84(W) x 1.66(H) x 6.69(D) inches.

Theater II
Hmm... You have a popper you say... We must compare our poppers for I have one too. It is the Theater II! Sort of like the Mach 5 only without the nifty buttons. I've just taken some pictures, so the mysterious popper I've been talking about shall be revealed! "Hey, Trixie!"
